| I must also
say that you deserve tremendous thanks for all the effort and planning
on this magnificent project. You and the core team have led this great
project to bring this Christmas celebration in Fleet to reality once again. Once again your vision motivation and effort has worked so well. Well done to all those involved. Best wishes, |
Wow…what
a night! I seemed to me that it ran like clockwork. The crowds (and there
were crowds) were amazing…no matter how hard it rained, they just
kept smiling and battling on.
For me, personally, It was lucrative and I think we should have a summer shopping night during carnival week also. But I’m not going to offer myself to organise it !!
Thank you very much
Best wishes
Heidi |
| Dear Kevin, Thank you for organising the event. Everyone I spoke to enjoyed it despite the weather! It was dry for setting up and packing away and everything appeared to run smoothly. I would certainly like to be involved again and if you have a summer event. I am off to Odiham on Thursday. best wishes Sue |
Well it was a great success and the folk turned out in hundreds despite
the rain. I was very impressed at the whole thing and congratulate the
FBP on an excellent job. Hart Shopping Centre was literally seething with
people.
Regards Colin

Kevin, Regards |
Kevin, Firstly I congratulate you personally on the enthusiasm you instill
in the FBP partners who responded with their co-operation and help to
bring home yet another delightful and successful evening. The residents
of Fleet reacted and turned out to enjoy the Christmas Festivities despite
the weather and the England Game. Not that those watching the game would
have missed much if they had not watched. I do hope that next year we
can avoid such events.
Please convey my thanks to all of the kind supportive folk who assisted
in the preparation and attended on the evening - I trust they took appropriate
delight in what was achieved both with the joy to be seen on the children's
faces and the parents feeding their faces. |
| A brilliant evening full of fun, colour and vivacity. Just one slight comment; there seemed to be a bit of a gap in the various stands between Gurkha Square and Victoria Road; thereafter the density of stalls changed markedly. Perhaps a more continuous distribution might be better. But this is not a negative comment so please don't take it that way. The whole evening was brilliant. My congratulations. Jim Drew |
I think the evening was a great success, despite the rain. There seemed
to have been more people around than ever and the atmosphere was terrific.
Thanks to everyone who organised the event for all their hard work and
enthusiasm. Let's hope we win the best window display now! Kind regards Hilary Smith Director Babyland (Fleet) Limited |
| Hi, Kevin,
I don't think I've got a lot of feedback to give: the evening seemed to go well, despite the rain. From the Choral Society's point of view we had a good spot more or less under cover outside Iceland, it was clear for us when we arrived, we sang from 6.30 - 7.00pm as arranged, and we shoved off. No problems. We didn't have many people stop to listen to us, but that's not surprising, given the weather. I don't suppose that's of much help, but it's about all I have to offer. Keep up the good work! Chris |
Kevin! Just wanted to say a big 'thank you' to you and your colleagues for organising such a splendid evening. I know the weather was awful (to put it mildly) but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves regardless. It seems to get better with each succeeding year! Cheers to you all, Pippa |
| Hi Kevin
It was a good evening and my team enjoyed helping out even though they were a bit soggy! I would like to become more involved with the local community and would welcome the opportunity to assist with the Fleet business partnership. Could you let me know if you would like any further help and when the meetings are. Regards |
Hi Kevin A brilliant event , I am sure enjoyed by all the age groups that attended, you covered the market... Well done and thank you. Bernice Wall |

Many congratulations on another terrific Fleet Festivities! Despite the rain, I thought it went extremely well and the weather and the football didn’t seem to keep the crowds away.
My only criticism was that the Hart Centre and shops closed at 8.00 – with Fleet being much of a commuter town, many people such as myself couldn’t get down for the start and it was disappointing that the evening came to something of an abrupt end. Was this due to HDC restrictions on opening times?
In any event, it did the town proud, so well done and thank you to you and all involved.
Kind regards
Tim |
Hi Kevin, Emma Mabin All Saints Juniors. |
| Kevin I hope you have recovered from all the preparations. Fleet seemed to be buzzing as usual this evening despite the weather,.I thought the fireworks were impressive. We were having problems finding somewhere to dance where it was dry and quiet! In previous years we have not been allowed to dance in the Hart centre so were feeling a little despondent and about to find a warm pub , when someone suggested to one of our members that she contact someone in the Hart Shopping Administration, which she did -the result being we danced for 20 minutes outside Orange and were announced . So we enjoyed ourselves. I hope the event was as successful as it appeared to be and here's to 2008!! Best wishes Ruth Hutchinson- Fleet Morris Dancers |
Congratulations Kevin on an excellent Festivities evening that went
very well despite the horrible weather.
Best regards Paul Doughty |
Kevin. Just a short email to thank you for inviting us to the celebrations once again. We had a successfull evening and raised £84.00 in donations. We also had great fun with the locals. I would also like to thank you for the plaque and the chips. Many thanks once again. Andrew and Debbie Berkley Owls |
Dear Kevin, Wow ! As you know this is my first year in Fleet, and although my staff had pre warned me about the potential of the evening I was still pleasantly surprised. The rain and football failed to keep the public away. I brought in additional staff from my other restaurants, doubled my stock levels and arranged for additional seating. Between 5pm and 6pm we took the highest sales in 1 hour since December 2004. The next hour broke the restaurants all time record hour (we've been trading for over 15 years). Finally, for the entire day we took an additional 49% more sales than the comparable Festival day in 2006. We saw many many new faces using our restaurant that evening which was great news. As far as we at McDonald's are concerned the event managed some huge ticks in all the boxes. Well done and Thank you. James Kirkpatrick - Owner/Operator McDonald's Fleet. |
| I could not attend but saw evidence it was well attended. Congratulations.
Kind regards Cllr Brian Blewett |
Dear Kevin, I attended with my two children and thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent in Fleet. Our stay was curtailed by the rain but the atmosphere was jolly, as it was last year. I particularly liked the live bands and it was good to see a wider range of stalls. I liked the way that the noisy fair ground type attractions were kept at each end of Fleet Road. It was rather difficult to hear the choir as they were close to one of the live bands. All in all, a great evening. Congratulations to all concerned. Kind regards Gill Butler |
| Dear Kevin and all the organiser's marshals & contributors
Thanks for another great festivities evening, despite the rain it was really nice to see the smiles on families faces throughout the evening, a really great atmosphere, keep up the good work ,looking forward to next years event. T.Sampson (Sampsons cakes) |
just to say well done to everyone who put in the hard work for the evening,
unfortunatly we have decided that it is not worth us opening as we are
just too far down the high street to make it worth while, also not helped
by the weathr this year! but we will promote it to all our customrs for
future years. Denise White, Tackle up |
| Hi Kevin, The only thing that was not perfect on the day was the weather. I got rained off and had to pack up sooner very reluctantly, also being next to the band made it a little too difficult to comunicate with the clients as they were rather noisy, understandably. So next year may be I could be placed slightly away from the band. So thank you for your years of hard work and unfailing enthusiasm. Best regards Danusia (Danusha) |
Philip
